What Exchange Recovery Clinic Does No
One Else Can Do
By
proprietary means we are able to recover the mailboxes
located in the IS database files from just about
any kind of "Jet Engine Error",any
kind of "Read Verification Error", database
corruption, over sized files or any kind of problem
with the IS files in general. Just because another
company may say that your mailboxes are not recoverable,
or you have lost data, does not mean that it is impossible
to perform an exchange server recovery and get your mailboxes back.

Before any data
recovery of your Exchange server database is
tried, you must make sure of several things.
1. All log files are backed up.(these log files
are normally located in the mdbdata directory where
your Exchange Server database files are located). In
Exchange Server 2000-03 the log files are probably
in a folder named after your computer name of the
Exchange Server. On exchange server 5.5 the log file
begins with edb.log. On Exchange Server 2000-03 the
log files consists of E0000001.log - e00.log.
2. All Exchange server databases files are backed
up. This includes priv.edb , dir.edb and pub.edb
3. On Exchange Server 2000, the database files are
Priv.edb/ Priv.Stm(if your database is shadowed)Pub.edb/Pub.stm.
4.Make sure you have a qualified engineer that has
experience in Exchange Server disaster recovery.
5. You may want to have a Exchange Recovery Clinic
engineer take a look or get a Microsoft engineer
on the phone to guide you through this process.

Exchange
Tip of The Month: Inconsistent file state
Inconsistent
file states can be brought on by the Information
stores not being in-sync or up to date with the transaction
log files. This
inconsistent state can also be caused by the information
store being shut down dirty. But 90%
of the time this error is caused from the information
store developing problems over time which in turn causes
Microsoft Exchange Server not to mount the stores. This
is why when utilities are run on the information
store, data is lost and more headaches are caused
then problems resolved. In any case ,Microsoft Exchange
Server database files are very sensitive and we do
not recommend running utilities on the database files
if you want your data recovered intact.
